A Palm Springs Wedding

Lately, my Facebook news feed has been looking more like Style Me Pretty than social media. With stylish and beautiful friends tying the knot left and right, I couldn't resist sharing some of their images with you.

My sorority sister, Lisa, and her husband, Brian, got married at The Parker in Palm Springs and I'm more than a tad enthusiastic about the vibe of their wedding. Vibrant colors, California sunshine, gorgeous flowers and Jonathan Adler flair. You've got to check it out.

{um, I almost died when I saw this picture... love the robes from Plum Pretty Sugar and I spy a moroccan wedding blanket- perfection!}
In love with the bouquet variations; each bridesmaid looked beautiful and unique.
How about those shoes and escort cards?!
Thank you to Lisa and Brian for letting me share their big day and many congrats!!

Venue: The Parker, Palm Springs, CA

Peru Wedding

I had the distinct pleasure of getting to know Laura when we were roommates my sophomore year of college. And while we went separate directions after school (literally- she went to Peru in the peace corp and when she was returning to the states I was moving to New Zealand). Luckily, we've kept in touch!

When she got married about a month ago, Laura and her now husband returned to Peru (where they met) to say their vows.
The very talented Olivia Leigh, who also photographed our wedding, went to Peru with Laura and Matthew to capture the special occasion and the result was nothing short of spectacular.
I had tears in my eyes as I viewed their photos and not just because I know the bride. I could literally feel the love jump out of the screen while viewing so I knew I had to share here on the blog. Hope you enjoy too!

See more, here!

Guest Post: Emily from Perfectly Put Together

Emily from Perfectly Put Together is one of the nicest people I've "met" through blogging and I'm thrilled to have her as a guest blogger today...

Thanks for inviting me to be a guest on the blog today Megan! With all of the fabulous food posts here on Pink to Green, I figured I would put together some of my favorite dessert tables!

I am in full wedding mode with less than three months to go and food is a major subject right now. To celebrate, I want to showcase some of my favorite dessert tables for you. These are perfect for a casual or formal wedding or bridal shower and make such an impression on guests. So without further ado…

If I were at a wedding with a display like this, I would definitely be skipping dinner.
Of course Martha can do no wrong... In the Details: Sweet Table2

Try personalizing things when possible with tags or stickers...

Finally, you can never go wrong with anything pink!

Nautical Summer Wedding invites

My infatuation with Maine continues...
A wedding in Bar Harbor sounds pretty fantastic- paired with this custom designed invitation suite, you border on perfection. Vintage map envelope liners, hand printed walnut veneer invitations and rope details have me thoroughly infatuated with Carolyn Sewell's work.

Portrait of a wedding party

Wedding photographer Kristen Spencer captures her clients with an eye for both the sentimental and spontaneous; this portrait is especially pretty, don't you think?

Have a great weekend!

Tablescape

If I was in the midst of wedding planning, this image would occupy a prominent spot in my inspiration folder. There are a number of elements that make this unique setting stand out:
  • Long table- still loving them
  • Mismatched china- ever since this wedding in Martha, I've been smitten
  • Natural elements- the lavender in geometric wooden boxes add a modern and beautiful dimension while also adding height
  • Navy linens- a delightful departure from white, this dark neutral allows everything to pop while it would be a great addition to an overall color palate
For now, these ideas will be stowed away for a summer dinner party perhaps?!

Wedding Video

I hope you'll indulge this belated wedding post. I'm overjoyed with the way our video turned out and wanted to share! If your not familiar with the story, we renewed our wedding vows this summer after returning home from living abroad; I was literally in tears as I watched this and relived our day of celebration with family and friends.
We used Hitched on Film which is affiliated with Well Spun Wedding Films; Hitched is a more affordable option, but they delivered the artistic feel we were looking for. If you like the super 8 style, I would highly recommend working with this company!
Some brides curtail looking at weddings related sites after they say "I do"-- not me, I still love to browse. I get so much inspiration and would absolutely love to help plan events in the future. Do any of you have suggestions of sites I should check out?

A ghost [chair] in the woods

Suzanne Dimma's wedding proves once and for all that the term ghost chair is a giant misnomer. Although its name implies a blend-into-the-background personality, "clearly" [pun intended] they steal the show. As editor-in-chief for Canadian House & Home, Suzanne is a master of juxtaposing aesthetics. Her wedding was a great example; opposites do attract when you accessorize a rustic environment with sophisticated details. P.S. How beautiful is this dreamy images of her?

Wedding Wednesday

When you combine a style-savvy bride, a historically romantic city and Calder Clark of Blue Moon Events, the result is magical--the wedding of Caroline Beak and Keating Crown in Charleston, SC, was just that and more.
Currently being featured in Martha Stewart Weddings, this has to be one of my all-time favorite events. Southern charm mixed with a French-chic feel (no-doubt a nod to Caroline’s days with Chanel) this wedding is full to the brim with so many elements that I love:
Eschewing tradition, the bride invited all of her bridesmaids to wear white and she wore navy Christian Louboutin heels. The navy accents were a theme through the night seen on the printed material, her earrings and the inky centers of her beautiful anemone bouquet. While strolling the grounds of Middleton Place Plantation, Caroline donned an amazing J. Mendel caplet. Long tables were set with clear glass and silver letting the exposed oak finish lend a naturally elegant touch to the reception.
And no matter how many times I’ve seen it; the use of a mint julep cup for flower arrangements continues to be a personal favorite. Simple arrangements of sweet-smelling lilac are perfection.Although the day was rainy and overcast, A Bryan photo captured images that look cozy and romantic. For more details of their 4-day event, check out the full write up, HERE.

You all have warmed my heart so much with your sweet comments! It was a joy to come back and read so many nice things about the first picture I posted; thank you very, very much.

Olivia has posted more pictures and a slide show on her blog and we couldn't be more excited with the way they turned out-- she captured the emotions and details of the day in such a beautiful style.

Below is a preview of the images she posted. To view more and see the slide show, visit Olivia's post here and click on the last image. {I'll admit, I've yet to watch it without getting a little teary}
Hope you enjoy! xx
