Chairloom: High Style Recycle

While devouring Lonny Mag's debut this morning, I came across a great company that I just had to share.

Chairloom is full of upholstery inspiration and I love their mantra-- reuse and reinvent.

"We believe that one doesn’t need to buy something new to create a satisfying and inviting living environment. Instead we affirm the transformative power of applying a fresh, creative vision to quality antiques."
~Molly Worth

These examples will definitely have me thinking twice about the lonesome chairs to be found at garage sales, Goodwill and flea markets!

DIY sofa made of shipping palettes

This DIY sofa idea has caught my eye on a few sites, most notably for its versatility and ingenuity. Two wooden palettes and a few power tools later, you've got yourself a unique and inexpensive seating/sleeping option customizable to just about any space. This is upcycling at its finest!

Here is the before:

For a less shabby chic feel, I like the look of painting the palettes to suit your decor. Depending on the size of your palettes you could fit a twin size mattress, use foam with custom fabric or cover them with floor cushions (urban, world market and le souk all have some cool options).
