Charleston Recap

We had a wonderful trip to Charleston! The weather was such a gift; we enjoyed our first non-jacket weather in months and took full advantage of it by walking everywhere!

This is only my second visit to Charleston, but already I can't wait to go back. The biscuits at Poogan's Porch alone are worth the drive in my humble opinion. At the end of this post, I've included my personal city guide, if you're interested.

Perhaps my favorite activity in Charleston is to meandering down the cobbled streets stumbling upon amazing homes and incredible history. Here I am meandering- that look is pure joy.

Some of my favorite details were the many porch ceilings painted blue. Its a fun southern tradition that we've incorporated into our home. These are incredible examples.

I also was loving the saturated red of these doors.
And I seriously can't get enough of the brickwork in Charleston. It is everywhere and SO pretty. Our hotel room had this incredible exposed brick wall.
More details to love

And the obligatory tourist picture!
On our way out of town, we went to Sullivan's Island. It was so invigorating to dip my toes in the sand at the end of January. I think I could get used to this view!
This trip we revisited some old favorites and discovered new reasons to return to Charleston. Here is a quick Pink to Green city guide:

Stay:
Harbourview Inn was the ideal location and friendly service
Eat:
Brunch- Poogan's Porch and High Cotton are new favorites, I would also recommend Magnolia's
Dinner- McCrady's is my favorite restaurant in the states; love the food and atmosphere
{I could go on and on about the food, but these are some top picks}
Shop:
South of Market- always lots of pretty things to see
Billy Reid- I love browsing in this perfectly merchandised store
Birlant's- Large selection of antiques at more affordable prices
If you have other suggestions, please leave me a comment. I'm already making my list for next time!!
