Speaking of New York City Fashion week, I was impressed to learn about the cool eco-friendly stuff Aveda did to help green the event.
Rodarte, 3.1 Phillip Lim, Preen and Alexander Wang did the following:
1) Aveda supplied Sigg bottles to replace bottled water which eliminating up to 400 plastic water bottles backstage per show.
2) These shows served organic, locally sourced food for models, stylists and makeup artists backstage (food provided by City Bakery).
3)Programs and show invitations were printed on post-consumer recycled paper
4) Encourage the use of emission-free pedicabs for guests of fashion week to shuttle between shows
