New Zealand Holiday Gift Guide

This year I’ve been inspired to look at gift giving in a new light- through green colored lenses if you will. I’d be lying if I didn’t admit that I had some trouble with this post, combining my green efforts with a quest for gifts seemed like competing ideologies. However, my hope is that I have shifted the way I look at giving gifts for the holiday’s—giving a gift that has meaning and thought is different than giving just for the sake of consumption. Luckily, I had parents who taught and exemplified that its it the thought that counts! A great way to give a little greener is to focus on buying from local artists and supporting handmade and one of a kind products. With that in mind, I’ve developed a list of some of my very favorite New Zealand handmade gifts that would be great to give or get this year!
1) Bo Boots are the cool version of Uggs
2) Rangihoua Estate Olive Oil
3) Hunter and Pike Fern Purse
4) Sue Quigley's Rosebud Earrings
5) Matakana Market Tea Towels
6) Eco Stores Natural Soaps
7) Antipodes Heavenly Body Oil
*note, many of the these products are available in the states, visit thier website for info
