A Modern Green Home in upstate NY

Nestled in the hills of upstate NY is James Lerner's modern weekend getaway that boasts a dramatic design and strong attention to energy-efficiency.
The angular exterior of the home provides sweeping views of the woods from nearly every interior space making the transition from inside to out seamless.
Sparsely decorated, the modern feel of this home is punctuated with inviting details; the antique wheelchair in the master bedroom, the Calacutta gold marble used on the counter and backsplash in the kitchen and the beautiful Matthew Hilton Light dining table.
Perhaps my favorite detail of the house is the single light fixture utilized throughout; Cecile Manz’s Caravaggio, from Light Years.
Equal attention was given to eco-ethos when building the house; architect Adam Rolston utilized a number of innovative and earth-friendly materials such as Zalmag for the exterior and Loewen windows. For more information, you can read the article in Metropolitan Home.
